Governments, employers and development partners across the East African Community are aligning behind a shared goal: making it easier for skilled young people to move, work and build careers across borders.
That commitment sits at the heart of EAES26’s theme, Skills without Borders, which frames labour mobility as a regional integration issue as much as an employment one. Progress on the Common Higher Education Area, mutual recognition of qualifications, and coordinated Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) reforms are central to that agenda.
The summit will bring together governments, academia, TVET institutions, employers and development partners to review progress and agree on practical next steps for accelerating skills mobility across the six EAC countries.
